The HDD is the most common type of hard drive to be found in a Mac computer. It is has a motionless mechanism using NAND flash based memory. The newer version of the hard drive is the SSD, or Solid-state drive. This mechanism is an older version of the hard drive. In the most basic sense, a HDD, or Hard Disk Drive, is a spinning disk drive. Whilst memory is an extremely important part of your computer’s potential to run multiple programs at once, your hard drive is in control of writing and storing permanent data.
